§ 22.50.010. Intent.

The intent of this chapter is:

A.

To provide accessible, attractive and well-maintained off-street parking facilities;

B.

To reduce traffic congestion and hazards;

C.

To encourage efficient land use and alternative transportation strategies by promoting an equitable balance of parking needs and pedestrian accessibility;

D.

To ensure the maneuverability of emergency vehicles;

E.

To provide aesthetically pleasing parking facilities in proportion to individual land use needs;

F.

To decrease unnecessary impervious surfaces; and

G.

To appropriately apply environmental best practices to parking construction and regulation.
