This chapter is intended to carry out the provisions of the Washington State Forest
Practices Act, the Washington State Environmental Policy Act and the Thurston County
Comprehensive Plan through the proper regulation of the conversion of forest lands
to other nonforestry uses. As such, it is the policy of Thurston County to provide
for consistency between conversion forest practices with other applicable county land
use and development standards. These standards include but are not limited to building,
zoning, subdivision, critical areas, shoreline management, grading, stormwater, erosion
control and street design requirements established by the Thurston County Code.
