Chapter 13.08. ROAD CLOSURES, LOAD AND SPEED RESTRICTIONS |
§ 13.08.010. Definitions.
As used in this chapter, the following words shall have the following meanings:
(1)
"Public highway" means all public roads, as distinguished from private roads, under the jurisdiction of the county. The term shall not include primary state highways or freeways, but shall include county roads.
(2)
"Perishable commodities" means items such as milk, meat, fruit and fresh vegetables that will physically deteriorate under existing conditions to the point where their value and quality will be substantially reduced unless brought to market in a timely manner and speedily put to their intended use. The term should not apply to items removed from storage or which can otherwise be held over by available means until normal travel can be resumed.
(3)
"Commodities necessary for health and welfare" means items essential to the operation and maintenance of a household or group of households, including, but not necessarily limited to, food, water, clothing, fuel, medical supplies and feed for domestic farm and range animals when the need for immediate transportation of such items has been clearly indicated.
(4)
"Director" means the Thurston County director of public works.
