§ 10.04.370. Hogum Bay area.

  • It is unlawful for any person to discharge a firearm at any time in Thurston County, State of Washington, in the following described area of the county:

    Beginning at a point ¼ mile west of the Willamette Meridian line at the intersection of the shore of Nisqually Reach in Section 25, T. 19 N., R. 1 W., W.M.; thence northwesterly along the beach line of Nisqually Reach to the west line of Section 24, T. 19 N., R. 1 W., W.M.; thence south to the northeast corner of Section 35, T. 19 N., R. 1 W., W.M.; thence west along said north line of said section to the northwest corner of said section; thence south along said west line to the northwest 1/16 corner of the northwest quarter of Section 2, T. 18 N., R. 1 W., W.M., said point being the city limit line of Lacey; thence east to the northeast 1/16 corner of said section; thence south along the east line of said section, 1320 feet to the east ¼ corner, excepting therefrom the east 275 feet of the northeast quarter lying southerly of 31st Ave. N.E.; thence continuing south along said east line 1980 feet to the northeast corner of the southeast quarter; thence west along the south ½ of said southeast quarter to the easterly line of Hogum Bay Road N.E.; thence south along said road to the northerly right-of-way line of State Highway Number 1 (I-5), in Section 11, T. 18 N., R. 1 W., W.M.; thence northeasterly along said right-of-way line to a point ¼ mile west of the Willamette Meridian line in Section 12, T. 18 N., R. 1 W., W.M.; thence north along said offset line to the point of beginning.

    Provided, this section does not restrict the rights of a person, acting in self-defense, to take reasonable actions which, but for this section, would be allowed by law. Provided further, that this section does not prohibit the use of rifles or shotguns for the slaughter of domestic animals by the owner of the animals or the owners' agent when done on the property of the owner.
